Graeme Mundy has become the latest entry to this year’s Porsche Carrera Cup of Great Britain, the runner up in the 2011 Porsche GT3 Cup Challenge joining In2Racing.

This is somewhat of a home coming for the Linden Hire backed driver; he last contested the Carrera Cup of Great Britain in 2008 and finished a respectable third in the Pro-Am2 category and tenth in the overall standings.

“I absolutely want to do Le Mans and I would like to do at least six race weekends this season.” Said Mundy, who intends to start his campaign this weekend at Donington Park in Derbyshire. “I would also love to do the Porsche Supercup race at Silverstone if I get the chance. “He added.

The returning racer will pilot the car that Jake Hill used to great effect over the championship’s opening weekend at Brands Hatch; the Goudhurst youngster stunned with a fourth position in the first encounter followed by a podium in the second race.

Porsche’s new Type 991, 911 GT3 Cup, provided some cracking racing over those first two races and Mundy is looking forward to his first taste of the new machine in race conditions. He was able to test the car at his home circuit: the fast, furious and fabulous Thruxton in Hampshire last Wednesday. “The new car has certainly levelled the playing field”. He concluded. After such a close fought opener, you cannot disagree with him.
