Ginetta have brought their tenth new racer into British motorsport ahead of the inaugural running of the Ginetta Racing Drivers Club (GRDC) this season.
Businessmen Guy Redwood and Gary Wager today (14th April) obtained their racing licenses with Ginetta at Silverstone, joining eight other members who passed their tests a few weeks ago before enjoying a test day in their Ginetta G40 racers.
Amongst those eight was Keith Sinclair, who will commute from Warsaw, Poland for each race. He commented: “It was first track day experience in the wet but it did not stop me having an enjoyable time and gaining a pass. Although it was touch and go in the classroom!”
The addition of three drivers means fifteen drivers are signed up so far for the opening GRDC round at Rockingham Motor Speedway on May 3rd, including retired airline pilot Andy Bradshaw, motoring journalist Greg Stuart and Chris Babington.
“I haven’t felt so nervous about a test since school, though Ginetta’s introduction to racing has been fantastic; training with instructors that have competed at the highest levels, cars built for the job and a good fun team to go with it,” said Babington.
The drivers will have a final test day on Tuesday 22nd April at Silverstone before the first round.
