REBELLION Launch the R-One at Spa

1 Mins read

REBELLION Racing has launched the new REBELLION R-One at the Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps ahead of its debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship.

The team, which runs in the LMP1-L class, will run two R-Ones for the rest of the season, replacing their old Lola B12/60’s which made their final appearances at Silverstone, with the #12 finishing fourth overall.

Talking about the project, which was launched under a year ago and first turned a wheel two weeks back, Team Manager Bart Hayden said: “Just getting to Spa with two new cars is already a massive achievement for the team. Everyone has given everything that they have to get these cars ready and I’m very proud of the work ethic and professionalism of everyone that has been involved.

“Our expectations for the race are quite modest, we anticipate new car teething problems, but we considered it to be crucial to be at Spa to give ourselves the very best preparation for Le Mans.  We start a new chapter for the team this weekend and we hope that it will be a great continuation of what has already been a fantastic story for REBELLION Racing.”

The two Toyota-powered cars this weekend will be driven by Nicolas Prost, Nick Heidfeld and Mathias Beche in the #12, whilst Dominik Kraihamer, Andrea Belicchi and Fabio Leimer will be driving the #13 R-One.

The action at Spa starts tomorrow at 0900 local for free practice one, with the race starting 1430 local on Saturday.
