Ferrucci doubles up at Brands Hatch

1 Mins read

Santino Ferrucci made it two from two at Brands Hatch after taking another Cooper Tyres British F3  victory in race three of the weekend at the Kent circuit.

Ferrucci made a lightening start to the encounter after passing pole-sitter Martin Cao off the line, before the Fortec Motorsport-duo proceeded to pull away from the chasing pack, led by Carlin‘s Li Zhi Cong.

Cong’s improved fortunes however soon seized to exist, with the Chinese driver suffering from mechanical issues on lap 6 of the race and being forced into retirement-rounding off an awful weekend for the driver. Cong’s demise was Matt Rao‘s gain, as he jumped up to third.

Dan Wells again finished fourth for Double R, ahead of teammate Camren Kaminsky who closed to within 0.4 seconds at the chequered flag.

Max Marshall finished a distant last behind his two teammates, and a far behind race victor Ferrucci, who’s stock value only continues to rise after an impressive weekend at Brand Hatch with two race victories. Equally as happy will be Cao, who saw his championship advantage extended to 15 points at the end of the weekends racing action, ahead of Matt Rao.

The series next heads to Donington Park on the 13th/14th September for the season finale, with the Fortec’s Rao and Cao set for a title showdown.
