Ferrucci to the fore on British F3 debut

1 Mins read

Santino Ferrucci mad the perfect start to his Cooper Tyres British Formula 3 career after converting pole position into race one victory at Brands Hatch.

The American debutant got the better of Fortec Motorsport teammate Martin Cao off the line, before immediately pulling away from the chasing pack. Fellow debutant Dan Wells also enjoyed a strong debut race in British F3, competing in third for Double R.

Out front Ferrucci pulled five seconds over Cao in second, before easing off towards the end of the race. Cao’s runners-up finish was not in vain however, with Ferrucci’s one-off appearance voiding him of any championship points, leaving Cao to take the numeral spoils.

Wells came home in an impressive third, ahead of Fortec’s Matt Rao, with the squad denied a podium lock-out.

Max Marshall finished fifth in only his fourth British F3 race, with Carlin-duo Camren Kaminsky and Li Zhi Cong rounding out the field in sixth & seventh.
