James Dorlin is targeting a move into the Michelin Clio Cup Series next season after wrapping up the 2014 Junior Saloon Car Championship (JSCC) title this past weekend at Croft.
SV Racing’s Dorlin capped off a sensational second season in the JSCC (formerly Saxmax) with a pair of commanding wins in the final two rounds in North Yorkshire, topping the championship by thirty points over Ben Colburn.
With that title under his belt, the 14 year old now hopes to step up from his Citroen Saxo to a third-generation Clio racer next year with SV.
“I have already started thinking about the next step and my aim is to enter the Michelin Clio Cup ‘Race Series’ in 2015, providing we can raise enough sponsorship,” said Dorlin.
“I see that as good progression from the Junior Saloon Car Championship. I’d like to have a good go at that and continue this winning trend and, as it has been so great working with Danny (Buxton) and the SV Racing guys – a title win suggests we’re doing something right – I hope to stay with them.”
