Peugeot-Hansen looking to end WorldRX season in style.

1 Mins read

Team Peugeot-Hansen are looking to keep up the momentum of their recent form by finishing the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship presented by Monster Energy in exciting style at the finale in Argentina this weekend.

Timmy Hansen has been the in-form driver in the team, taking the overall win in Italy and finishing second to Andreas Bakkerud in the Turkey Supercar Final after dominating the event, whilst 2013 EuroRX Champion Timur Timerzyanov has also been fast in the last two events, showing the pace of development from the team to make its Peugeot 208 WRX Supercar into a competitive machine over the course of this season.

However, going into the ArgentinaRX Finale, the Peugeot-Hansen team lie in third place in the Team’s Championship behind VW-Marklund Motorsport and Ford OlsbergsMSE, whilst Timmy Hansen holds fourth place in the Drivers Championship, just four points behind Reinis Nitiss. Therefore the team is looking to keep up its recent momentum and improve on its position in the Teams Championship whilst Hansen is looking to secure a second podium position in a row whilst in what is only his second season of top flight Rallycross.

Team Peugeot-Hansen Boss Kenneth Hansen is quietly confident of an outside chance at winning the Teams Championship this weekend.

“Argentina is really interesting place for Rallycross to go to. The interest in motorsport there is huge, so it’s exciting for all of us. We haven’t given up on trying to win the team’s championship, but we are a little bit behind. Things have gone against us earlier in the year, so maybe they will go with is now, but really we need other things to happen too for it to go our way,” Hansen explained.

“The team has worked very well to get us into this position and we are excited to go to Argentina. It’s very difficult to say how the new track will really be, until we can feel the gravel and see the angles of the jumps. We can only estimate before we get there. It is still possible to win the teams championship and we will be fighting hard in Argentina.”

The final round of the 2014 FIA World Rallycross Championship, presented by Monster Energy takes place over the weekend of 28 – 30 November in San Luis, Argentina.
