Lidsey Brothers Sign Up For 2015 Clio Series

1 Mins read

Brett Lidsey will return to the Michelin Clio Cup Series in 2015 for his third season in the category, and he will be joined in the 20Ten Racing awning by his younger brother Tyler Lidsey.

The Dartford-based siblings are the team’s first confirmed drivers for 2015, with Lidsey Snr returning to the headline racecar class while Tyler will join the fray in the roadcar category.

After taking a maiden podium finish en-route to eighth in the championship this year, Brett has set his sights on an outright title challenge.

“We lost out on some good results with a variety of incidents this season, so we want to attack the Race Series again in 2015 and aim for the championship title,” he said.

“The long term aim is to get to the TOCA [BTCC] package and race in the Renault UK Clio Cup, but I want to make sure I am ready before making the step up. I’m really happy to be with 20Ten again, it’s like one big family!”

Trackday enthusiast Tyler will make his competitive motorsport bow in a race-converted Clio Renaultsport 197. It marks 20Ten’s first foray into the roadcar division, and team principal Simon Hunt wants a multi-car entry in the class.

“It’s great to have Brett staying with us for next year and we’re delighted to be entering the Road Series as well with Tyler,” said Hunt.

“With a bit more testing and tuition, we should be able to get Brett consistently on the first two or three rows of the grid. He obviously wants to make the move into the [Renault UK] Clio Cup so regular podiums are what he needs.

“It’d be nice to try and race in the Road Series, Race Series and Clio Cup, create a bit of a ladder, so it’s fantastic to have Tyler confirmed for the Road Series.”
