Rockingham To Host Marshall Recruitment Event

1 Mins read

Rockingham Motor Speedway are hosting a two-day Marshall training and recruitment event next month in collaboration with the British Motor Racing Marshals Club.

The South Midlands Region of the club is inviting existing and new volunteers to the event as part of the club’s annual training and recruitment drive.

The opening day, Saturday 7 February, will see training provided for current marshals moving up the national grading ladder, with sessions on flags, report writing, communications, leadership and mentoring.

Sunday 8 February meanwhile will be for all grades of marshals, with sessions especially for new recruits. These will cover all aspects of marshalling, including basic skills, first aid, incident handling and recovery.

“Marshals are a vital member of the team at all circuits, and without the goodwill of these enthusiastic volunteers we wouldn’t be able to run our race meetings,” said Nick Breed, Rockingham’s Assistant Circuit Manager.

“We are once again delighted and honoured to be the venue for the British Motorsport Marshals Club South Midlands Region training and recruitment weekend and are pleased to offer the classroom, fire training materials and of course the circuit free of charge.”
