Ex-Senna Toleman causing Goosebumps in London Showroom

1 Mins read

The 1984 Toleman-Hart TG184-2 as driven by Ayrton Senna during his rookie season of Formula 1, including in the memorable Monaco Grand Prix where he came close to a maiden victory, is currently on sale at Prindiville in London for £1million.

Since its arrival in the showroom however, Prindivilles founder Alex Prindiville has admitted to felling some kind of ‘presence’ in the showroom.

“I don’t believe in the paranormal,” insisted Prindiville, “but sometimes when I’m working in our London showroom late at night I feel a presence, a change in the atmospherics of the room.

“This only started happening after we took delivery of the ex-Ayrton Senna Toleman-Hart F1 car that we’re selling on behalf of its owners. It’s not a spooky feeling, but I definitely get the sensation that I’m not alone.

“Then again, perhaps the goosebumps are simply because I know what a fantastic history this car has, and its ultimate association with one of motorsport’s great heroes and great tragedies.”

The history of this Toleman is well-documented, with Stefan Johansson, a short-time Senna’s team-mate, a previous owner. It comes in its 1984 livery, and is in excellent condition.

The standout race for the car was in Monaco in 1984, when Senna drove a masterful race to come extremely close to victory after passing a number of top drivers in at the time were in better cars. Senna thought he had won the race after passing Alain Prost, but the race was stopped and Prost declared the winner on count back. However, it was the race that started the momentum that eventually saw Senna become a three-time Formula 1 World Champion.

The iconic car can be viewed by appointment at Prindiville’s London showroom. Further information can be found by contacting Brett Fraser at [email protected] or by calling him at 07941 367823.
