Peugeot-Hansen look to keep Momentum at Hockenheim

1 Mins read

The FIA World Rallycross Championship moves to Hockenheim for Round two of the 2015 season in a unique double header weekend with the DTM and Team Peugeot-Hansen are looking for more podium success.

At the first round in Portugal, Timmy Hansen fought for fastest times against Petter Solberg and Andreas Bakkerud during the heat stages before progressing through to the Semi-Finals and ultimately the Final where he finished third behind winner Johan Kristoffersson and Solberg.

New signing Davy Jeanney had a quieter weekend, learning about the new Peugeot 208 WRX as he got to grips with being a works Rallycross driver as well as taking part in his first FIA World Rallycross season. Jeanney’s reward was a place in the Semi-Final and after securing third in that race, he went on to finish fourth in the Final, giving Team Peugeot-Hansen the lead in the Teams Trophy after the first event.

The team now looks to Hockenheim as WorldRX shares the weekend with the DTM, which has its opening two races at the circuit. However the new Rallycross layout will be an unknown to all of the teams and drivers, which takes in part of the traditional stadium part of the former German Grand Prix venue. This will add to the challenge of perfecting the set-up as well as fighting to qualify out of the heat stages.
