Tyre manufacturer Pirelli enjoyed a positive outing on the XION Rally Argentina, round four of the FIA World Rally Championship. The Italian tyre company helped their clients to top privateer, WRC 2 victory and production cup victory.

Highest finishing driver was Czech competitor Martin Prokop who took his Ford Fiesta WRC to fourth overall, equalling his career best result.

WRC 2 winner Abdulaziz Al Kawari whose steady approach and cautious driving style took him to victory in the WRC support class, WRC2, by almost three minutes in his Ford Fiesta RRCSimone Tempestini won the Production Cup by over ten minutes in his Subaru Impreza N14.

“With private teams, we have been knocking on the door of the overall podium thanks to a brilliant drive from Martin, and we have also claimed the class wins courtesy of Abdulaziz and Simone.” said Pirelll senior engineer Matteo Braga,

“The fact that we have been able to challenge the factory teams in such a way I think underlines the strength and performance of our product. This year was particularly tricky in Argentina, which the phenomenal rate of retirements showed.”

The next round of the WRC takes crews to Rally Portugal next month.
