The runner-up in this year’s Renault UK Clio Cup will be joining the eventual champion in testing a Motorbase Performance BTCC car at the end of the season.
It has been previously announced that the 2015 champion will be testing a Motorbase Ford Focus as well as a Renaultsport R.S.0.1 racer.
The championship’s official tyre supplier Dunlop have now confirmed the vice-champion will also be offered a prize test for the first time.
“It’s another exciting coup for the Renault UK Clio Cup,” said Clio Cup Championship Manager Will Fewkes.
“To have both the Champion and Vice-Champion automatically receive tests with one of the leading teams in recent years in the British Touring Car Championship – where so many of the Clio Cup’s top names have gone on to succeed – adds even more kudos to being on our grid.”
2014 Clio Cup champion Mike Bushell tested a Motorbase Ford Focus last October, and has stepped up to the BTCC in an AMD Tuning Focus – where he is competing against 2014 vice-champion Josh Cook and ten other Clio Cup graduates.
