Kruuda Aims For Victory In Sardinia

1 Mins read

WRC2 competitor Karl Kruuda is aiming to take his first win of the season on Rally Italia, round six of the 2015 FIA World Rally Championship when he crosses the start line to contest the WRC2 category in his Citroen DS3 R5.

The Estonian driver showed some great pace on the last round in Portugal before he hit trouble. The characteristics of the stages in Sardinia hold similarities to the stages in Portugal. This means the Estonian is one to watch again in WRC2.

“Sardinia will be hotter than Portugal, that’s for sure, and the stages will be even more demanding in many ways,” he said. “In the past we’ve shown that we’ve got the pace to win in Sardinia, so that has to be the aim again this year. Although we didn’t get a result in Portugal, I was actually quite encouraged by how it went. We know that we’re on the pace and that we can challenge for the win. I also had a very good feeling for the car on gravel. So I reckon we are in good shape for Sardinia.”

Kruuda finished fourth in the category here last year.
