This weekend, the 2015 SEAT Leon Eurocup will go to Silverstone, for the third round of the season, after previous events at Paul Ricard and Estoril. The Northamptonshire circuit will host 30 drivers, representing 15 different nationalities, all batting for position in a SEAT Leon Cup Racer.
Baporo Motorsport‘s Pol Rosell leads the standings heading into this round, five points ahead of Fran Rueda of Monlau Competición. Rosell managed to score a podium finish at the second race of last year’s event. Out of four races so far in 2015, he has one victory and three podium finishes.
Indeed, it won’t just be Rosell looking for wins. The top five in the championship are only separated by just 12 points. Behind Rosell and Rueda sits Mikel Azcona of PCR Sport, followed by Stian Paulsen and Julien Briché. In seventh place is Lucile Cypriano, who leads the Ladies Trophy.
“We’re enjoying it,” said Jaime Puig, Director of SEAT Sport. “The competition is very enjoyable for everyone and we see that race after race. The battles in the first laps, constant changes of race leader and excitement throughout the weekend mean the series is gaining more fans every day. For the second time we head to Silverstone, where the SEAT Leon Eurocup drivers will continue to battle next weekend.”
