Sergio Perez: “It’s going to be a busy weekend for the team”

1 Mins read

Sergio Perez felt the Austrian Grand Prix two weeks ago was tough, but was happy to leave the Red Bull Ring with two points after finishing ninth, but is now focused on Silverstone, where the Mexican driver will be running the b-specification Sahara Force India VJM08 for the first time.

Perez knows the British Grand Prix weekend is going to be busy while the team continue to learn about the b-spec car, with the team looking to get the upgraded parts to integrate into the rest of the car.

“The last two races have been a bit difficult for me, but we still managed to come away with points in Austria and it was a great performance by the team,” said Perez.

“With the arrival of our upgrade package in Silverstone, it’s going to be an important and busy weekend for the team as we try to get all the new parts working together.”

Perez feels that there is ‘something special’ about Silverstone, especially with the history of the circuit, and hopes to be able to finish inside the points this weekend for the team.

“I really like the Silverstone track, with its fast and flowing corners, which are great fun to drive,” insisted Perez. “There is a lot of history and you feel there is something special from the moment you arrive at the circuit.

“I always performed well there in the early part of my career and I would love to pick up some points this weekend.”
