Carlos Sainz Jr: “We did the maximum today”

1 Mins read

Carlos Sainz Jr felt he did the best job he could have done during qualifying for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone after finishing the session in eighth position.

The young Spaniard remains optimistic that he can score points on Sunday despite not fulfilling the pace Scuderia Toro Rosso had shown during the three practice sessions this weekend, and is aiming to move up the order on Sunday.

“I’m happy, I really enjoy this track!” said Sainz. “We did the maximum today and I don’t think we could’ve extracted much more from the car.

“We’ve looked strong all weekend and I’ve been optimistic the whole time. I’m satisfied with today’s P8.

“Tomorrow we expect a tough race with plenty of battles, but as always we will try our best to finish in the position we are starting in or further ahead and score more points.”
