Sharp Ready for Supercup Adventure

1 Mins read

Tom Sharp and IDL Racing are set for the biggest challenge of their racing careers this weekend, as the former Ginetta star tackles the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup.

Sharp’s Porsche Carrera Cup of Great Britain campaign has been one of ups and subsequent downs, typified by the event at Croft last weekend. He qualified third for the first race but a poor start meant he tumbled to fifth at the finish and achieved the same position in race two. He best result so far was a fourth in race one at Oulton Park.

Ex-British GT man Sharp has experience of the full Grand Prix layout from running in that series and also the 2015 Carrera Cup media day which was held on the longest configuration of the Northamptonshire track.

The final word to a driver, who we believe has top ten potential this weekend. “This is a fantastic opportunity for me and all the IDL Racing team to pit ourselves against the best Porsche Carrera Cup drivers in the world.”

Looking at his Carrera Cup GB campaign, he adds “We’ve made real progress with our Porsche since the start of the season, and this outing will allow us to test ourselves against the best teams and drivers in Carrera Cup racing, which will only help us for the remainder of our Porsche Carrera Cup GB season.”
