Josh Webster stormed to victory for Team Parker Racing in a dramatic four way fight for success in round fourteen of the 2015 Porsche Carrera Cup GB at Silverstone.
Yet to achieve his second victory of the season required somewhat rumbustious tactics. For which read the physical removal of Michael Meadows’ Samsung SUHD TV Racing car at Brooklands in the closing stages.
This somewhat brutal tactic hasn’t, at the time of writing, received any kind of judicial comment. It did allow race one winner Dino Zamparelli to score a second podium of the day for GT Marques and Dan Cammish to consummate his championship success with a third position for Redline Racing.
In Pro-Am1, Ignas Gelzinis was a victim of first lap brutality which saw his Juta Racing car pushed to the back of the order. He recovered for a class podium, behind Daniel McKay for In2Racing and a reinvigorated Jordan Witt who took the spoils for Redline.
In Pro-Am2, this time many more cars finished and with many more straight panels. John McCullagh took yet another win for Redline, Nerijus Dagilis was at the bottom of the podium in his brightly liveried Juta machine and the man in the middle was G-Cat Racing’s Thomas Jennings.
So we head to Brands with a confident champion, of which more at the end of the week on The Checkered Flag. Then in Pro-Am1, Gelzinis holds a single point over Witt. McCullagh holds a solitary seven over Dagilis in Pro-Am2. Anything and everything can happen on the GP loop at Brands Hatch. It most likely will.
