Felipe Massa: “One of the best circuits to drive”

1 Mins read

Felipe Massa believes the Autodromo Nazionale Monza should suit the characteristics of his Williams Martini Racing FW37 this weekend, and is looking to secure a third career podium finish at the circuit after third place finishes in 2010 for Scuderia Ferrari and last year for his current employers.

Massa has a lot of supporters in Italy due to his time with the Ferrari team between 2006 and 2013, and rates Monza amongst his favourite circuits on the Formula 1 calendar.

“Monza is one of the best circuits to drive – the layout is quick with some very fast corners,” said Massa. “The local area is fantastic with good weather, great food and fans who are very passionate about Formula One.

“There is a lot of history at the track and as a team we have had some good results there, including our podium last year. Standing on the Monza podium is very special and I’m lucky enough to have a lot of supporters in Italy.

“Our car should be suited well to the characteristics of the circuit but we will have to work hard to make sure that we leave Italy with a good result.”
