WorldRX of Argentina Entry Revealed

1 Mins read

The entry list for the final round of the 2015 FIA World Rallycross Championship has been announced with 19 Supercars confirmed and several driver changes taking place, as confirmed on the FIA WorldRX website.

The finale, which is being held at the Rosario circuit in Argentina, will see some familiar faces return. Gianni Morbidelli for a second WorldRX event, having made his début in Italy last time out, joining TCR WestCoast Racing team-mate and Team Boss Rene Munnich at Munnich Motorsport in one of their Audi S3 Supercars.

2015 FIA European Super 1600 Champion Janis Baumanis steps into the second Ford Fiesta at WorldRX Team Austria, joining Max Stohl whilst Team Principal Max Pucher is busy with other commitments.

2015 RX Lites Champion Kevin Hansen receives a Supercar drive as part of the prize for winning the RX Lites series and he will drive a third OlsbergsMSE Ford Fiesta alongside regular drivers Andreas Bakkerud and Reinis Nitiss.

Finally, RX Lites race winner Thomas Bryntesson makes his début in the Supercar class as he joins the VW Marklund Motorsport squad for the final round. Bryntesson recently tested one of the teams Volkswagen Polo supercars that he will pilot alongside regular driver Topi Heikkinen.

The driver line-ups at SDRX, Volkswagen Team Sweden, Team Peugeot Hansen and EKSRX remain the same for the final round.

With all of these quality drivers joining the regular competitors for the Championship Finale in Argentina, the focus turns to one final detail to be decided: The 2015 FIA World Rallycross Drivers Title. After Timmy Hansen’s retirement during the Semi-Finals in Italy, Petter Solberg is in the prize seat to secure his second consecutive WorldRX title. Solberg leads Hansen by 26 points going into the Finale and only needs to outscore Hansen by 5 points to secure the title.

The World RX of Argentina takes place at the Rosario circuit on 27-29 November.
