Fresh off the back of Red Bull announcing their engine partnership for 2016, sister team Scuderia Toro Rosso have also revealed who will be supplying engines to them next season, with the Faenza-based team leaving Renault and reuniting with Ferrari.
Ferrari supplied the team with engines between 2007 and 2013 before moving to Renault, with Toro Rosso running with the last 2015-specification engine next season, the one Ferrari itself used over the closing races of this season.
“It’s great to be working with Ferrari again,” revealed team boss Franz Tost. “We had a fruitful relationship in the past and I’m sure it won’t take long for us all to be working together very well again.
“It’s true that time will be very tight for us to be ready for the first test, but we have the right team of people for this and I’m confident that together we will achieve a competitive package for next year – bring on 2016!”
With the engine supply and therefore the future of the team secured, the team were also able to confirm that highly rated duo of Max Verstappen and Carlos Sainz Jr will remain with the team for a second season.
