Alex Lynn continues role with Williams into 2016

1 Mins read

Williams Martini Racing have confirmed that Alex Lynn will continue his role as test and development driver for the 2016 Formula 1 World Championship.

The 2014 GP3 Series champion had a positive first season with Williams after undertaking a significant simulator programme and an official Formula 1 test in Barcelona. Continuing on from 2015, Lynn will be given time to focus on a title challenge in his second season of the GP2 Series with DAMS, while supporting the development of the team’s race cars in the factory.

Lynn is delighted to continue his role as development driver with Williams into the 2016 season, with his main focus on the fight for the GP2 title.

“I am really delighted to continue in my Development Driver role with the team this season and remain grateful for their on-going support,” said Lynn. “I relish the opportunity to build on the hard work I put in last year, to continue helping develop the Formula One car and gaining further knowledge of the inner workings of the Williams team from both a technical and human perspective.

“With the team’s blessing and support, my main focus this season will be to fight for the GP2 title. I am determined to prove myself worthy of graduating to become a fully-fledged Formula One race driver at some point in the not too distant future.”
