Red Bull Racing finished the fourth and final day of pre-season testing in second behind the Scuderia Ferrari of Kimi Raikkonen.
Daniil Kvyat was behind the wheel of the RB12 for the Milton Keynes based team completing 96 laps at the Circuit de Catalunya with the Russian setting a fastest lap of 1m24.293s to sit only 0.816s behind Raikkonen. Over the two days, Kvyat completed a total of 170 laps for Red Bull whereas his team-mate Daniel Ricciardo completed close to 200 laps.
After completing two good days testing the RB12, Kvyat still would have liked to logged more laps for Red Bull, and knows that for the team, it will be important to extract the maximum out of the second round of pre-season testing next week.
“I had two quite good test days, even though we would like to do more laps,” said Kvyat. “But we have two days left next week, so it will be important to extract the maximum out of that opportunity, to figure out where we can make steps forward.
“Obviously it’s important to develop the car for the first race in Melbourne but even beyond that I think it will continue to improve as we understand the car more and more. We’ll try to get as much done as possible next week, I’m looking forward to it.”
