Massa ‘confident’ and ‘excited’ heading into 2016

1 Mins read

Felipe Massa believes the two consecutive third place finishes in the Constructors’ Championship for the Williams Martini Racing squad means expectations are high for 2016 and the FW38.

The Brazilian remains with the Grove outfit for a third season and has taken five podium finishes in that time, and is looking forward to seeing how the FW38 handles on track, although he will have to wait until Wednesday for his first taste. He knows the team have been working hard to overcome the weaknesses they have shown in the past couple of seasons.

“Securing third in the Constructors’ Championship for two consecutive years is a great achievement and one that comes with a lot of expectation – a momentum which I am excited to build on going into the new season,” said Massa.

“The team at the factory have worked really hard on the new car and we have spent a lot of time understanding where we need to improve. I have a lot of confidence in the team at Williams and I’m looking forward to getting behind the wheel of the FW38 to see how it performs.

“I’m equally delighted to be team-mates with Valtteri [Bottas] for another year. He is a very talented driver who brings a lot to the team.”
