Lewis Hamilton: “I have a good feeling about my pace”

1 Mins read

Lewis Hamilton, the reigning Formula 1 World Champion and winner of the previous two Bahrain Grand Prix, is eager to make it a hat trick of victories at the Sakhir International Circuit this weekend.

The Mercedes AMG PETRONAS driver felt good with the pace of his W07 at Albert Park two weeks ago but bemoaned his poor start that all but ended his chances of victory, but hopes the 2016 will be one where the team face good battles with Ferrari for honours.

“I’m excited at the thought of more races like Melbourne,” revealed Hamilton, who climbed back up to second in Australia despite running outside the top five in the early laps of the Grand Prix.

“There are going to be weekends where we’re a few seconds up the road from Ferrari, races where it’s wheel to wheel and races where they might be ahead. We really don’t know – and that’s exciting.

“I have a good feeling about my pace. I was ahead all weekend until the race start last time out, so I’m confident heading to Bahrain. It’s been entertaining on track for the past two seasons there, so more of the same would be great!”
