Paul Rees will exit the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and head to the Porsche Mobil1 Supercup in 2016, as he joins the MOMO-Megatron team.

An iconic brand in motorsport, the Luxembourg-centred team enjoyed success in 2015 with another ex-Carrera Cup GB competitor in Ben Barker, who scored a podium success during the Monaco GP weekend.

Rees has previously enjoyed Supercup outings in America, taking in the 2014 and 2015 season finales at the Circuit of the Americas.

Commenting on the move, Rees says; “I am thrilled to remain in the Porsche family. I get on really well with the team and I wanted to stay loyal to MOMO as they gave me the opportunity and they are so passionate.”

The Supercup season commences at the Circuit de Catalunya in the middle of May.

Comment: Paul Rees has been there or thereabouts throughout his two years in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB. A victory at Rockingham in 2014 stands out and although his 2015 was blighted by injury, now is certainly the right time to progress further up the Porsche motor sport ranks. The Mobil1 Supercup is a notoriously tough series to master, but if Rees and the team gel as quickly as they can, then top ten success should be a target throughout the season.
