2014 Porsche Carrera Cup GB champion Josh Webster will graduate from the series this year. The 2014/2015 scholar is moving up to the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup this season, alongside outings in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo.
Webster joins the Konrad Motorsport team renowned for running Porsche machinery in the Mobil1 Supercup and which last season added a new focus towards Lamborghini.
For 2016 Webster too moves out of Porsche and into the stunning Lamborghini Hurácan GT3 machine that took victory on its debut in the Blancpain Series at Monza last season.
Announcing the news on Facebook this evening, Webster thanked team boss Franz Konrad. “Without Franz, my manager Brad Fincham and loyal sponsors, this wouldn’t have come together.”
The young stars first outing with the team will take place at the second IMSA WeatherTech Sportscar Championship round, the world famous Sebring 12 Hours.
Comment: Josh Webster has been one of the recent revelations of the Porsche Carrera Cup GB and this opportunity to progress from the series is very much deserved. As an ambassador for the series Webster has done an exemplary job and his race-craft and raw speed have been equally as impressive. Definitely a driver to watch, in 2016 and beyond.
