Dino Zamparelli will return to the Porsche Carrera Cup GB in 2016. Zamparelli rejoins the GT Marques team who took him to two wins and an additional two podiums at the close of last season.

Announcing the drive on Facebook yesterday evening, Zamparelli said, “I am delighted to be returning this year to race in the Carrera Cup GB. We are excited and ready to push everything to the limit.

Zamparelli will re-join battle with IDL Racing driver Tom Sharp, who narrowly stole the Rookie Cup from Zamparelli at the final round on the Brands Hatch GP circuit.

Comment: This was the news that many had been waiting for. Dino Zamparelli unlocked his potential after joining GT Marques last year for the final two meetings, and then swept to four consecutive podiums. If that form and pace can be carried forward, then this year’s title fight is a lot more open than it first seemed. That is before you start considering the potential of drivers like Tom Sharp and Charlie Eastwood to challenge throughout 2016.
