Dan Cammish (Redline Racing) and Dino Zamparelli (GT Marques) topped a practice session apiece as the 2016 Porsche Carrera Cup GB burst into life at Brands Hatch

Only four drivers went faster in the morning session, with the fastest times biased towards the afternoon. On fastest times from the day, Zamparelli bested Cammish by under a tenth of a second, with a further tenth and half back to Stephen Jelley (Team Parker Racing).

Dan McKay led Pro-Am1 for In2Racing, where he has now been joined by Euan McKay, elevated from Pro-Am2. Confusingly, Peter Jennings has also been elevated from Pro-Am2 in the G-Cat Racing entry, but John McCullagh (Redline Racing) has not been, even though he is the reigning champion.

McCullagh was the fastest Pro-Am2 entry across the day (quicker than Jennings, so it does seem a tad unfair that currently Jennings is not able to contest the Pro-Am2 element of the series), with Peter Kyle-Henney (Parr Motorsport) and Ian Dockerill (Asset Advantage Racing) close behind.

Qualifying for the opening rounds of Carrera Cup GB 2016 takes place at 11:25am on Saturday with the two races on Sunday at 10:00am and 03:05pm. Good to be back, isn’t it…
