Danny Way Announces FIA World RX Entry with JRM Racing

1 Mins read

X Games Legend Danny Way has confirmed on his social media accounts that he will join the JRM World RX Team for the second half of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship in a second BMW Mini RX Supercar alongside the British Bomb, Liam Doran.

The deal struck between the American athlete and the Daventry based squad will him join World RX in Canada at the Trois-Rivieres circuit and complete the season alongside Doran, before moving on to prepare to compete in the full 2017 season. Way made his début at the 2015 World RX of Hockenheim, where he drove alongside the late Dave Mirra. Whilst Mirra took a heat race win 12 months ago, Way also led his Heat race and this was to be a preview of the potential to come from the car itself.

This is the statement made by Way on his Social Media accounts:

I’m super hyped that after a long 5 year journey, my relentless ambition to prove my ability to drive a Rally X super car has finally paid off. Just signed with JRM Racing to drive the JRM Mini Rally X super car for the second half of the 2016 FIA World Rallycross Championship, as we prepare for a full 12 rounds in 2017.

“My first race will be round 7 in Montreal Canada August 5 at CIRCUIT: GRAND PRIX DE TROIS-RIVIERES . I’m so very grateful for this opportunity because it did not come easy.
