Ginetta factory driver Mike Simpson has been announced alongside Zen Low in a full-season Asian Le Mans Series entry in a Ginetta LMP3.
Simpson will race for Ayelzo Ecotint Racing in the series, which starts at China’s Zhuhai Circuit on October 30, alongside team boss Low – who has experience of endurance and GT racing in recent years.
The factory racer, who is racing in both the British GT Championship and V de V this year, said: “I’m delighted to be joining Zen at Ayelzo Ecotint Racing for my Asian Le Mans Series debut. The team have a wealth of experience in the series, and when added to my knowledge of the Ginetta prototype, we should be a winning combination on the track!”
Low said: “Racing in the LMP3 Ginetta will be an exciting experience for me and the whole team. I would like to extend my gratitude to Lawrence Tomlinson, the Chairman of Ginetta and to the Technical Director, Ewan Baldry for their full support of our venture into the AsLMS with Aylezo Ecotint Racing.”
This news follows on from the announcement that Charlie Robertson will also race in the Asian Le Mans Series this year with Ate De Jong in the PRT Racing Ginetta in both the three-round Sprint Cup series and the four-round Endurance series.
