Carlos Sainz Jr wa behind the wheel of the RB7 for Red Bull Racing’s Middle Eastern tour as it headed to Beirut, Lebanon for a live demo.

While other Formula 1 drivers were preparing for the sixth round of the 2016 Formula 1 season in Monte Carlo, Sainz had a stop-over in Beirut for a live demo. The aim of these shows is to bring F1 cars to countries that don’t have a Grand Prix. Over 20,000 people attended the demo located at the Beirut waterfront to watch the Spaniard drift round the corners and achieve some impressive doughnuts, allowing him some ‘freestyling’ in a race car.

Lebanon marks the end of Red Bull’s Middle Eastern tour, before Beirut the team sent the RB7 along with David Coulthard to perform in front of racing fans in Oman and Jordan.

“The best thing was how much everyone really got carried away by the show,” said Sainz.

“From the beginning of the first run ’til the very end of the last, the spectators were really, really engaged: with the show, with the noise.

“I think we nearly had a track invasion at the end there, everyone was so excited! It’s great to be in the middle of that.”
