Pirelli have confirmed the compounds they will bring to the tenth round of the 2016 Formula 1 season, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone.
The three choices are Soft, Medium and Hard for the British Grand Prix that will take place in July. The Italian tyre manufacturer have said that one set of Medium and one set of Hard must be available to each driver for the race, they must use at least one of them at some point.
Following the changes to regulations ahead of the new season, each driver must save for the final part of qualifying (Q3) one set of the softest of the three nominated compounds, this being the Soft compound for the Silverstone weekend. After Q3, those who qualify in the top ten will need to give this set back to Pirelli, with the remaining drivers keeping the compound for the race, as is the current case.
Each team needs to choose the remaining sets for their drivers to make up thirteen sets in total for the race weekend, and as we have seen in the races so far in 2016, the tyres chosen by drivers can differ significantly from those of other drivers.
