Sebastian Vettel was disappointed with his fourth place finish at the last round in Monaco, unable to find a way past Sergio Perez and despite his best efforts, the performance in the SF16-H just was not there.

The German is a big fan of the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve however, and is looking forward to Sunday’s race and the challenge the Montreal track brings.

“It’s a quick circuit, and I love it. I’ve some expectations, then you need to wait and see what’s happening on the track. It also depends on what other people are doing, what other people are bringing.

“We know that Canada it’s a tricky track because of its surface, usually it’s difficult to get the tires to work equally: the softer compound tires are quite tricky, it’s difficult to make them last in the race, so with cooler temperature usually you struggle a bit more overall so we’ll see. It could be interesting…

Vettel and the Scuderia Ferrari squad head to the 2016 Canadian Grand Prix knowing that they are not exactly where they want to be performance wise right now, but are confident they can turn things around.

“We have some new parts, hope they will help us make a step forward. I know that currently we’re not in the position we want to be in, but you never know: we will try our best, fighting very hard, giving everything to win. I believe we can turn it around.”

The Maranello based squad have slumped behind the Red Bull Racing team as well as the Mercedes AMG PETRONAS squad over the last two rounds, so it will be interesting to see if they can up their game, perhaps with the aid of their recent upgrades, in Canada.
