Louis Deletraz saw his grip on second place in the championship slip from his grasp after finishing sixth in race two on Sunday at Silverstone, with race winner Roy Nissany now Tom Dillmann’s closest challenger.
Fortec Motorsports’ Deletraz had qualified seventh during Sunday morning’s qualifying session, but felt it was the worst weekend all year long, even if he enjoyed his time in the Formula V8 3.5 car around the high speed Silverstone circuit.
“We had good speed and with one or two more laps we could have made even more progress, but I wasn’t close enough at the end,” said Deletraz.
“Overall, it hasn’t been a really good weekend – perhaps my worst of the season so far – but finishing both races in the points is some consolation. And even though the results were not what I wanted, I really enjoyed my driving.
“Silverstone is a difficult and very quick track – and it’s pretty amazing with this car. Every lap I do in this car I learn more and hopefully when I come back here I will do better.
“For now, I’m looking forward to a better result from the next round at the Red Bull Ring and a track that suits me more.”
