Lando Norris claimed his third pole of the season after a last-minute lap bumped him up the order. So far, Norris has achieved victory in all BRDC British F3 races he’s managed pole.
The Douglas Motorsport cars started from where they left off, with Thomas Randle the quickest driver at the start of the session. This didn’t last long though as Lando Norris took up his traditional spot at the front of the pack as the drivers settled into the session.
The Double R Racing cars decided to only complete a sighter lap as the team sent their drivers out later in the session. Back at the front, it was championship leader Ricky Collard who took top spot. While fellow race winner Toby Sowery saw his quickest time deleted.
With five minutes to go, Matheus Leist finally moved to the head of the table as Will Palmer proved he’s still the man to beat. A time of 2min 17.230 was enough to finally oust Collard from his position.
A glamorous pole on his return looked certain for Palmer until Collard took the pole with 15 seconds to go. The session wasn’t over though as Norris stole top spot with the final lap of the session.
Norris and Collard will once again be re-united on the front row while Palmer leads Leist on the second row. Behind them, a surprisingly poor run from the Douglas cars saw Enaam Ahmed claim fifth and Randle seventh.
They’ll be split by Thomas Maxwell who continues Sean Walkinshaw Racing’s strong run of pace. The first race will take place at 14:45 local time.
