Williams Group enter new partnership with Thales

Williams have confirmed a new technical partnership with Thales to protect its confidential data.

Thales, the leader in critical information systems, cybersecurity and data protection will deliver cyber security solutions to Williams Martini Racing and Williams Advanced Engineering. Their deal will include the firm delivering state-of-the-art solutions for cybersecurity.

Within Formula 1, data protection is regarded as the most importance and Thales will assist the Grove-based outfit in protecting their data. Helping the team both on the pit lane and back at Williams headquarters. With a numerous amount of projects being undertaken with external customers, data protection has now become a greater importance for Williams.

Marc Darmon, Executive Vice-President for Thales said, “This agreement builds on the already strong existing relationship between our two companies and our combined skills and expertise. It clearly illustrates Thales’s commitment to accompany its clients in their digital transformation where cyber security is a vital requirement.”

Deputy Team Principal, Claire Williams added, “Williams has undergone a significant digital transformation over the past two years. We are revolutionising our IT infrastructure to make sure that we are well placed to continue innovating. With the help of Thales, we will be introducing cyber security systems that keep our data secure from wherever we are in the world.”
