Ferrari’s Maurizio Arrivabene: “We must react as quickly as possible”

Arrivabene talks about a disappointing German GP and how they are going react

Scuderia Ferrari team boss Maurizio Arrivabene says that the team will react after being overtaken by Red Bull Racing in the Constructors championship.

A double podium for Red Bull at the German Grand Prix allowed them to leapfrog the Scuderia team into second place but Arrivabene wants them to challenge the Austrian outfit and to have a strong second half the season.

“Obviously, we must react as quickly as possible to cure these problems and most of all we must lose not to too much time in the process. Having been jumped in the Constructors’ championship only pushes us to react, and perform better in the second part of the season, after the summer break.”

Arrivabene will be under pressure after such a difficult race at the Hockenheimring, where the SF16-H struggled with both mechanical grip and downforce.

“While one week ago, in Hungary, our race pace was totally respectable, here in Hockenheim we experienced again some issues with both mechanical grip and downforce, which unfortunately are not unknown to us”.

Heading into the summer break, Ferrari will need to react quickly and get back to winning ways otherwise pressure will mount on Arrivabene.  The team have yet to win a race this season and with such an impressive 2015 campaign, expectations were high for 2016 but results have failed to materialise leaving Ferrari scratching their heads.
