Pirelli have confirmed the three compounds that they will bring to the final round of the 2016 Formula 1 season, the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Italian tyre manufacturer will bring the P Zero Yellow Soft, P Zero Red Supersoft and P Zero Purple Ultrasoft to the Yas Marina Circuit in November. At some point during the Grand Prix on the Sunday, each driver must use at least one of the nominated sets by Pirelli. Either the Soft compound or the Supersoft, both of these sets must be available.

Following changes to the regulations, each driver must have one set of the softest of the three nominated compounds available for the final round of qualifying. For the Grand Prix in Abu Dhabi this will be the Ultrasoft. Those who qualify within the top ten must give this set back to Pirelli. With the remaining drivers allowed to keep this set for the race.

Along with these three compounds, all the teams are free to choose ten sets to make up thirteen sets in total for the weekend. With the new 2016 regulations, tyre nomination for long-haul events have to be made fourteen weeks in advance.
