Volkswagen Motorsport launch information service for home rally

1 Mins read

Volkswagen Motorsport will offer an innovative information service for FIA World Rally Championship fans and journalists at Rallye Deutschland.

Volkswagen are one of the first sports teams in the world to provide a direct information service using the WhatsApp, Telegram and Insta private social networks. Fans can have the opportunity to register for these information services for Rallye Deutschland 2016 via the Volkswagen Motorsport website.

Unlike Facebook and Twitter, those three private network social media channels allow fans and journalists to speak with the Volkswagen Motorsport team, which requires greater involvement from the user during the rally. More than one in ten users have taken the opportunity to use the service to speak with the World Rally Champions.

There are three combinable lists that fans can access whilst following Rallye Deutschland on WhatsApp, Telegram and Insta social networks.

The Essential list allows users to get a short overview of the standings and results after each stage, as well as quotes from Volkswagen drivers’ Sébastien Ogier, Jari-Matti Latvala and Andreas Mikkelsen as audio files and statistics.

Whilst the Emotional list sends photos and videos straight to your smartphone. Finally, with the Additional list, it adds information from news articles across the WRC world.

If you want to sign up for Volkswagen’s innovative information services to follow the 2016 Rallye Deutschland, you can do so by registering onto the Volkswagen Motorsport website.
