Williams Martini Racing are set to hold a joint press conference with driver Felipe Massa and Deputy Team Principal Claire Williams from the team motorhome at 13:45 today, at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, the location of this weekend’s Italian Grand Prix.

No clues or details have been given as to the reason for the rushed through invitation to media, however it is possible, though not confirmed, that the Brazilian could be getting ready to announce his retirement from F1 at the end of the 2016 season, after losing his seat at Williams.

It could also just as equally be to announce a contract extension for Massa with the Oxfordshire based squad, a move to another team within F1, or a change of scenery to compete in another area of motorsport.

After calling the conference, the Williams F1 Team Twitter account posted this shot taken from their motorhome just prior to the announcement.

Further details to follow after the conference has taken place.
