Brazilian Felipe Nasr is looking forward to driving the improving Sauber C35, and the Brazilian has confidence that the car will run well in Singapore as the team seek their first points of 2016.

“Looking back to the tests during the previous race weekends, I have confidence in our car, as I felt that we made a step in the right direction, although we cannot see it in the results yet,” said Nasr.  “In Singapore a lot can happen during the race, so we need to take every opportunity that might come up.”

The Singapore Grand Prix is always a special race for all the drivers, and Nasr says that the night race and the atmosphere creates a brilliant spectacle for everyone involved.

“I like the Singapore Grand Prix a lot – the night race as well as the atmosphere in the city once Formula 1 is there makes it a special race weekend. It is a great street circuit and racing under these high temperatures is a real challenge.”

Nasr scored a point last year in an impressive drive showing the potential of the Sauber car, but 2016 has been a poor season.  With new investors they will be looking to move up the field, and the team head into the flyaway races hoping they can end their baron spell without points and build some momentum ahead of  the 2017 season.

“I have good memories from last year’s Singapore Grand Prix, as I was able to score one point,” finished Nasr.
