Daniel Ricciardo is looking forward to finding out how the newly resurfaced Sepang International Circuit affects the Malaysian Grand Prix, as well as the change of date of the race that has switched from March to October in 2016.

The Red Bull Racing driver is interested to see how racing there later in the season with teams having developed their cars throughout the year, although he does expect the same uncertainty with the weather.

Ricciardo is coming off the back of finishing a close second to Nico Rosberg in the Singapore Grand Prix last time out after a great strategy call, and is looking for another strong outing this weekend in Malaysia.

“Malaysia physically is a hot one,” said Ricciardo. “We usually go there at the beginning of the season so it is going to be interesting going there now with a lot more development on the car and seeing how it performs.

“I checked the weather and it seems pretty constant all year round so that shouldn’t change much, but Sepang has been resurfaced so that could be interesting for tyre life.”
