Esteban Ocon: “I’m really getting into a good rhythm now.”

Esteban Ocon wants to continue improving heading into the final four races

Esteban Ocon wants to continue to improve his performances as he heads to Austin. Ocon struggled at the start of his season, but has grown into a worthy match to Pascal Wehrlein.

“More of the same, I hope.” said Ocon. “I’m really getting into a good rhythm now. At first it was not easy, stepping into a new car mid-season, but every race things are improving and when we have a nice run-up to race day, I can really show what I can do.”

A strong weekend for Ocon will be great for the Frenchman whose future looks uncertain, beating his team-mate will be the first step to securing a seat.

Austin has not just got a great circuit but a superb atmosphere and unique experience which Ocon will try before the weekend starts.

“Yeah, it looks pretty amazing. It’s the Live Music Capital of the World, so I’m hoping to experience that a little bit before the hard work starts for the weekend. And the Texas BBQ looks good too. I’ll give that a try, for sure!”

Ocon has been linked with Renault for 2017 alongside newly appointed Nico Hulkenberg, so a strong end to the season could see him move to the French manufacturer but with many drivers in the running it will be tough to earn a seat at such a big team.
