Kimi Raikkonen praises the design of the Circuit of the America's

Kimi Raikkonen says that the United States Grand Prix is a nice circuit with an exciting uphill section at the start.

The Finnish driver thinks the design of the circuit is good with uphill and downhill challenges.

“It’s a nice circuit” says Kimi of the American track. “They put a good design in it, plus it has uphill sections and it’s not just flat. I think it makes it more interesting.”

Last year was a challenging race with tricky conditions, Kimi highlighted the demands of circuit and how the weather made it extremely difficult for teams and drivers alike.

“Last year we had a very bad weather during most of the weekend. It was not very nice for any of us, drivers and spectators, but it’s part of the game. It’s a nice city, a nice place for the US Grand Prix with a lot of people.”

The Ferrari driver praised the Circuit of the Americas to allow overtaking and to give the drivers a challenge with fast and flowing corners.

“Obviously it’s possible to overtake during the race but it’s quite a short uphill for this. It helps to slow down the car and with the braking, but the corner is not the easiest one. However, it’s a good circuit for making an exciting race.”

Raikkonen heads into the United States Grand Prix sitting in fourth place, five points ahead of his team-mate Sebastian Vettel.
