Dave Ryan wants a smooth United States Grand Prix

Manor’s Racing Director Dave Ryan wants a smooth weekend from all three drivers especially development driver Jordan King who will be driving in his first Free Practice one.

Ryan says that Manor have done a lot of work since Japan to allow the drivers to have a reliability free weekend.

“Yes, both race drivers will be looking to get the American rounds underway with a nice smooth weekend in Austin and we’ve done a lot of work since Japan to make sure that’s possible.”

He continues by praising Jordan King’s performances as a development driver and justifies their decision to promote the British driver.

“It will be good to give Jordan his first FP1 session. He’s done a really great job in his Development Driver role and this opportunity was a planned part of his programme with us. We look forward to getting his feedback and this further opportunity to appraise his performance in the MRT05.”

Manor currently sit ahead of Sauber in the Championship and with only four races remaining every weekend is vitally important for the F1 minnows. The difference between tenth and eleventh is huge financially for Manor, so a strong United States Grand Prix is vital.
