Dave Ryan was happy with the performance by Manor Racing MRT over the United States Grand Prix weekend.
Both drivers managed to finish their first Grand Prix at the Circuit of the Americas, with Pascal Wehrlein finishing ahead of team-mate Esteban Ocon. With four driver retirements, Manor were the final finishers, with Wehrlein in seventeenth and Ocon in eighteenth.
Wehrlein had a relatively straight forward Grand Prix with him continuing his qualifying pace but it was more difficult on the other side of the garage with Ocon. He was unable to continue his strong pace from the start of the Grand Prix after he picked up some damage which resulted in the Frenchman struggling with the balance.
Ryan, Racing Director at Manor believes the strong performance from both drivers allowed another two-car finish for Manor.
“A strong performance from both drivers today to achieve another two-car finish,” said Ryan. “And manage our championship position.
“Pascal carried the momentum of a good qualifying forward into today and drove a tidy race. With Esteban, he did really well at the start and it was such a shame that the rest of the race was made difficult when he picked up some damage. Another back-to-back turnaround now and on to Mexico next weekend.”
