Pascal Wehrlein excited to drive in America

Manor Racing driver Pascal Wehrlein can’t wait to drive in Austin for the first time, the German driver has had an impressive first season scoring a valuable point for the team.

Wehrlein describes the challenges of the Circuit of the America, “I like the look of the section from Turns 12-15 – very much like the stadium section at Hockenheim, so that gets a thumbs-up before I’ve even started running there. I think the sensation of heading through the start-finish straight and up the steep hill to Turn 1 is going to be really cool.”

2015 was a challenging race for all the drivers as mixed conditions proved tricky for even the most experienced drivers.

“The weather can be quite mixed there – judging by what I saw their last year – so it will be interesting working with the tyres I think. I can’t wait.”

COTA is always a driver favorite with the exciting fast flowing corners and long straights which always promote overtaking.

Manor will hope for a strong weekend and try and utilise their Mercedes power unit on the long straights.

Wehrlein hopes for a strong US debut as Formula 1 head into the final four races but with the British team lacking development it will be difficult for Wehrlein.
