Monisha Kaltenborn admitted that she was satisfied with the performance of her Sauber F1 Team during the Mexican Grand Prix, although the team continue to look for their first points finish of the season.

The Team Principal of the Swiss team saw Marcus Ericsson drive strongly to eleventh despite facing the wrong way on the opening lap after a clash with Pascal Wehrlein and Esteban Gutierrez, and a subsequent pit stop for a new front wing, but thereafter the Swede was in great form.

Kaltenborn also praised Felipe Nasr for his performance after being the only driver to start on the Medium compound of tyre on Sunday, and she is looking forward to the final two races of the season confident they can break into the top ten for the first time in 2016.

“We can be very satisfied with our performance today,” admitted Kaltenborn. “Finishing in P11 confirms that we are working in the right direction. With such a performance under these difficult conditions, the team should have been rewarded with a point today.

“Marcus again had another strong performance and Felipe took the maximum out of his strategy. We are very confident about the next two races.”
